Weight and Weight Loss
Weight Loss
It is likely that you will weigh more at your 6-week check-up than you did prior to becoming pregnancy. You may have gained from 30 to 50 pounds during the pregnancy, but when you compare your weight right before delivery with your weight at the 6 week checkup, typically, a patient loses only 15 to 20 pounds. DO NOT DESPAIR!
The most important thing is to accept that this is normal, it is going to happen, but with a bit of work and a commitment, it will be a temporary situation. Please do not immediately start trying to diet and exercise right after delivering. Your body needs energy (food) and rest to properly heal and recover.
